Improving shelf availability of a leading retail group
Challenge
A leading retail group wanted to improve its shelf availability but ensure at the same time that its stock - levels were kept at an optimal level. However, it lacked the data it needed to avoid out-of-stock situations.
Solution
Tieto implemented an integrated data warehouse solution supporting the information flow of out-of-stock registrations. It introduced an easy access shelf availability analysis tool to all levels of the organization. Suppliers were able to access the same information via extranet. Shelf availability was introduced as a new item on key personnel’s scorecards.
Benefit
Shelf availability improved quickly after the implementation of the solution. Stock levels were kept at an optimal level and customer satisfaction improved because of better product availability.
