Tieto wins two innovation awards
Tieto Corporation PRESS RELEASE 19 December 2011 at 11.00 am EET
Financial-i magazine has announced the winners for its sixth annual Leaders in Innovation awards. Tieto won the award in e-invoicing as well as SWIFT corporate access categories. The innovation awards winners are global transaction banks and financial hardware and software providers that in the last 12 months have excelled, in terms of innovation in business solutions.
Tapani Turunen, responsible for e-invoicing services at Tieto, regards the award as an acknowledgement to Tieto's goal to provide excellent customer services and to create great customer experiences. "We feel that the new service is a real advantage for internationally operating corporations. E-invoicing based on existing global and secure network as well as international ISO20022 message standard builds an excellent foundation for quick e-invoice deployment."
SWIFT approved Tieto as the first e-invoice service provider to exchange electronic invoices over the SWIFT network. The first e-invoice exchange using the network was conducted last September by Tieto, Nordea and Bottomline Technologies.
In addition to e-invoicing, Tieto operates as SWIFT Service Bureau and thus provides bank connectivity services. Tieto SWIFT Service Bureau is an advanced global bank connectivity service and it was earlier this year awarded with the highest form of certification provided by SWIFT, The SWIFTReady Connectivity Best Practice Label.
Markus Hautala, responsible for Financial Messaging services at Tieto, attributes the Financial-i award to Tieto's approach to treat customers as individuals. "We consider all our customers to be unique - the way they are organized, to what degree their processes have been centralized, and how their IT infrastructures have been designed. We go the extra mile to understand our customers' circumstances and how our services can be customized to meet their specific needs."
Financial-i Leaders in Innovation awards recognize those companies that demonstrate an ongoing commitment and investment in innovation, which positively impacts end users. When selecting winners, the criteria considered include innovativeness, functionalities, differentiation, ease of customer implementation as well as the extent to which the solution will help companies solve business issues. The winners are chosen by an awards advisory panel, which includes industry analysts, consultants and practitioners.
