Tieto to deliver integrated healthcare and social care solution to Växjö municipality

Växjö Municipality has chosen Tieto's Procapita business system as the IT support system for healthcare and social care services. The deal, which concerns 2,400 employees, also includes an option for home help service planning and mobile home help service reporting. The integrated solution means both faster and more secure information for employees and enhanced security and safety for care recipients.

"We carried out an overall assessment and saw major advantages in integrating the planning and follow-up systems. We also saw that the Procapita business system and the Laps Care planning system are already integrated," says Camilla Lundqvist, IT coordinator at Växjö Municipality's social care administration.

"The systems are structured to feature an integrated process between planning and reporting with secure information management. The municipality saw this as an important factor," says Jahn Sundin, Business Manager for Procapita.

The option for Tieto's Laps Care planning system applies to call-offs in autumn 2011, and for the mobile home help service reporting system Movit to call-offs in spring 2012. The municipality expects the new IT support system to be fully rolled out in 2012. Procapita will then have around 2,400 users in all professional groups in municipal social care services. The contract runs for three years, with the option of extension for a further ten years.
